Dear friends, family and community
Kayla has Recently, received the most heartbreaking news imaginable. On August 27th, 2026 Kayla was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical and throat cancer at only 29 years old. Doctors have told her the cancer is incurable, and she has been given just 6 short months to live.
After reviewing her scans and data, the medical system here in Canada delivered a devastating verdict: they told her there was nothing more they could do and gave her a 0% chance of survival. Hearing those words felt like a door slamming shut. But Kayla is a fighter, and we refuse to accept that her story ends here.
We immediately began searching outside the country for answers. We sent her medical files to specialized oncology experts in Mexico who look at complex, late-stage cancers differently. After a thorough review, they gave us the miracle we were praying for: they see an aggressive path forward and have given her a much higher survival rate using advanced therapies not available to her at home.
Mexico is her only option to save her life, but international medical care must be paid entirely out-of-pocket and upfront. Canadian provincial healthcare will not cover any of these expenses. We need to raise funds immediately to cover
• Specialized cancer treatments and targeted therapies at the clinic in Mexico, medical flights and travel logistics, clean accommodations near the hospital for her and a caregiverCritical post-treatment medications.
We are racing against the clock. Kayla deserves the chance to fight this diagnosis and win and give her best fighting chance to be able to stay with her babies.
This is the first good news we've heard since her diagnosis and it is the hope that we need all so badly. Every single dollar goes directly into her medical fund to pay for treatments. Thank you for your incredible kindness, your prayers, and for helping us give this young Mama her second chance at life.
