It’s hard to know how to write a text like this as we never expected to, but our 31-year-old sister Kayla was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. By the time she received the diagnosis, cancer had spread from the lymph nodes in her neck to under her arm and into her lungs. Unfortunately, because she had just changed jobs when she received the diagnosis, she’ll be receiving very little financial support while off work for six months as she undergoes her first round of chemo, starting on June 14th, 2022.

Kayla is a strong woman and a fighter, and we are determined to do everything we can to help her overcome this disease. We’re hoping that we can raise enough funds to cover her rent, food and various other expenses so that she can focus on getting better instead of stressing about covering her bills from month to month. To that end, we aim to raise $10 000 dollars for Kayla to see her through her treatments without the burden of financial stress on top of the physical strain she’ll be under.

C’est difficile d’écrire un message comme celui-ci, car nous ne pensions jamais le faire. Mais notre sœur de Kayla, 31 ans, a récemment été diagnostiquée avec stade 4 du cancer du lymphome hodgkinien. Par le temps qu’elle a reçu le diagnostic, le cancer avait déjà atteint son cou jusqu’à son bras, jusqu’à ses poumons. À cause de son changement d’emploi récent, elle reçevra très peu de soutien financier durant ces six mois de congé médical. Elle commencera son premier traitement de chimiothérapie le 14 juin 2022.

Kayla est une femme forte et une combattante, et nous sommes déterminer à faire tous ce qu’il faut pour l’aider à surmonter et battre cette maladie. Nous espérons pouvoir ramasser assez de fonds pour couvrir son loyer, épicerie et autres essentiels, pour qu’elle puisse se focaliser sur sa santé, au lieu de s'inquiéter de ses factures chaque mois. Donc, nous visons à collecter jusqu’à $10,000 dollars pour qu’elle puisse passer à travers ses traitements sans soucis financier, par dessus les efforts physiques qu’elle fera face.
