My name is Kayla Davidson, I have two daughters, Callysta and Amaya. Over 2 years ago my husband attempted to take them to live with him and his mother in utah. He packed up the house we lived in, and packed the girls in a U-haul, and took off with them while I was at work. I convinced him to return them, and he continued to head to Utah, abandoning my daughters and myself.
For two years I have supported them without his help, I have paid for every expense, every doctors appointment, and every hour of every day that it took to get them the educational tools and assistance they need.
Callysta is 6 years old, She has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder requiring support, Speech Sound Disorder, and Expressive-Receptive Language disorder. I got her into a wonderful program, originally in Blue Springs, Missouri, then moving over to Olathe, Kansas.
Amaya is 4 years old, she has a developmental delay in several areas of normal development, but specifically with emphasis in social emotional development. She is also in a wonderful early education program in Olathe, that has been amazing for her.
Their father made an appearance in Olathe last week, he told me that he was here on work and would be headed back to Utah soon, and asked if he could see the girls while he was here. I arranged time with him to see them, so he could talk to them, play with them, and generally spend time with them while he was here.
On the last visit he requested, before he was scheduled to go back to Utah, he grabbed them, threw them in a car, and he took them to Utah, knowing they were supposed to be back in school the next week.
I am now in the middle of a very difficult, and lengthy legal battle to have my daughters restored to me permanently, to prevent my daughters from going through this sort of trauma ever again. I am seeking to have a divorce finally granted, custody settled, and give my daughters the stability and security of knowing this can never happen again.
This will be a difficult and expensive legal battle, that has already, and will continue to take a considerable amount of time, and a lot of work. I am asking anyone who can, to help me raise money for my defense, to help me get these beautiful girls back home where they belong, where they are safe, cared for, and have everything they need. I will be fighting disgusting allegations he leveled at me while accusing me of being an unfit parent, demonstrating to the judge this this cannot be allowed to happen a third time, especially when you consider the consequences to children with special needs. I tried to have faith that he would do nothing to harm them, but he planned this before he arrived in the state, and in my desire to give him the benefit of the doubt, I trusted he wouldn't do anything that would be detrimental to the girls.
I am asking for help raising money to support my legal defense and everything else he has, will, or is going to try and throw at me, or do, to try and discredit and deem me unfit.
