Dear Family, Church Family, Friends, Neighbors, and Fellow Humans...
Hello. My name is Alex and I am a member of the same church as the Lowe family. Over the past many years I have come to know them through church programs, camps, and children's church. I can speak openly about their love of Christ and His importance to their family (due to conversations and discussions we have shared), as well as their generosity (they would help me on clothing drives for foster children in need). Out of respect for the family and Kat (as this is her story to tell), I will keep this brief.
Katarina was diagnosed with Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) on August 18th, 2020 after being sick for around a week. MIS-C is very rare and only recently discovered in children post COVID (it is believed that MIS-C is due to the body's immune response to the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronoavirus). Due to the severity of MIS-C, as it attacks multiple organ systems, Kat was admitted to the hospital's ICU. Over the past week, Kat's condition has made some improvement, but she still faces a lengthy road to recovery. There is no doubt that Kat will one day use this experience to profess her love of Christ Jesus and share His message, but in the mean time, I am hoping that we can all join together and do something for the family.
The Lowe family always puts others before themselves. So much so in fact, that if I were to ask them about starting a fundraiser for them, they would probably say no, simply because there are other people out there with greater needs. How often in today's society do we see people turn help away because they feel others are more deserving? Hardly ever. So that's why I opened up this gofundme without asking them first (sorry guys!).
We are in unprecedented times, and with school getting ready to start back up, this family is trying to balance time between their other children, work, sitting by Kat's side, sleeping, and hopefully eating when they remember to. Financial stresses should not be something anyone should have to worry about during such times. Lost wages, hospital bills, lab bills, food, travel, babysitters... the list goes on and on. This is a great opportunity for us, the hands and feet of Jesus, to shower this family with love and support. Aside from our continued prayers, let us try to ease financial burden from them and allow them to focus all their energy and prayer into the recovery of their daughter and family.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
~GALATIANS 6:2

Thank you all for your time and generosity to help this fantastic family.
Humbly yours,
Alex
