Update from Kaitlyn: To those who have donated and/or shared my gofundme, I just wanted to express how grateful I am. I am completely blown away by your generosity and kindness. I can’t say thank you enough. From best friends and family to people I haven’t spoken to in years & complete strangers, THANK YOU. This has been an insane ride that Scott & I did not sign up for. While my journey is far from over I can officially say I am cancer free!!
As many of you know, my sister Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) breast cancer in May. She left the biopsy appointment thinking it was nothing since that’s what the doctors thought as well, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
Since then, Kaitlyn has undergone IVF treatments—denied by insurance after the fact—to preserve her fertility, as chemotherapy can adversely affect it. She has completed 12 weeks of chemotherapy and still requires radiation and surgery. The mounting out-of-pocket expenses for her medications, treatments, and surgery have been significant, but these are essential for her survival.
To help alleviate the financial strain and allow Kaitlyn to focus on her recovery, we’ve set up a GoFundMe page. Any donation, no matter the size, would make a tremendous difference, and we are beyond grateful for every contribution. Even if a donation isn’t feasible, sharing the link is incredibly helpful and appreciated.
I have been so lucky to grow up with Kaitlyn as my big sister, she’s my best friend, and watching her endure this has been heartbreaking. She has continued to be so strong through it all and her positive attitude has been inspiring to everyone around her. My greatest hope is to help her as much as possible and help keep her spirits high.
Thank you so much for your support.
