Help support Kaitlyn during her epilepsy journey

At the age of 16, Kaitlyn had her first seizure. It was shocking as this came out of nowhere. After our initial ER visit, she started on epilepsy meds and remained seizure-free for a year and twenty-four days. In 02/2023, she had her second seizure, and they became more frequent. By the end of the year, they were every four days. Watching her go through this is just heartbreaking. Her doctors have been very helpful along the way. They have tried different medications and procedures; however, we are still searching for a solution. Our hope is to try and get her some answers as soon as possible. Unfortunately, she walks around every day never knowing when the next seizure is going to happen.

So, we are currently working with The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL to get those answers. The experience so far has been phenomenal. Kaitlyn’s next steps include more testing, bloodwork, and a Level 7 MRI, which is what brings us here.
