Dear Friends and Supporters,

In March of this year, my husband faced a challenging situation when his employer, Embark Trucks, closed its doors, leaving him unemployed. Months of job hunting followed, and we were finally blessed with a contract position at an unnamed self driving company in late July. We were beyond grateful and relieved for this opportunity, hopeful that it would help us get back on our feet.

However, life had other plans for us. On August 17th, while my husband was simply walking, he felt a sudden and excruciating snap in his calf. It turned out to be a ruptured Achilles tendon, a painful and debilitating injury. To address this, he underwent surgery on August 25th, 2023, to repair the rupture. Unfortunately, the injury is on his right leg, making driving out of the question for 3 months.

As a result, my husband's employer is unable to grant him work from home, and this unforeseen setback has placed immense financial strain on our family. After five months of unemployment and now facing an additional three months of recovery and inability to work, we are struggling.

We are reaching out to our friends, family, and the broader community for support during this challenging time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping us cover medical bills, and daily expenses, and keep our family afloat until my husband can return to work.
