I am creating this Go Fund Me page on behalf of my son Joshua who has Cerebral Palsy. He was born prematurely at 26 weeks gestation, he is 7 years old and a lively, happy little boy. Joshua has had botox injections and regular physiotherapy which unfortunately hasn’t improved his quality of life.

As Joshua can’t communicate, it makes it difficult for us to know when he’s in pain.

By having Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy Surgery (SDR) at Alder Hey, it will decrease the pain significantly in his legs. He has involuntary movement in his legs and cannot control his movements in them.

As Joshua can’t walk, the surgery is not available on the NHS. Joshua has been recommended by the Alder Hey NeuroSurgical team and it will vastly improve his quality of life in many aspects.

The price of the Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy Surgery is £13,000.
