Aloha family, friends, and extended family,
I have some tremendous news. As of July 13 I am completely cancer free. This has been shockingly great news as I’m in the less than 1% of people with this form of cancer who actually become cancer free.
Although this is a time to celebrate, I’ll continue doing my chemotherapy treatments for at least another year just for my piece of mind and to make sure that the cancer stays gone. We’ll then access whether or not to stop the treatments at that time.
It’s beyond belief that this has happened for me. I thank all of you for your many prayers and thoughts and support over these past 10 months. I definitely couldn’t have gotten here without all of you beside me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love you all
Jory

Aloha,
Well, treatment 23 today and guess what, all of my blood work has come back all within normal ranges. My red blood cells; potassium; thyroid; liver; and kidney numbers are all within acceptable levels. Amazing how two weeks can make a huge difference. Great news all around. YEAH
Love you all
Jory
Aloha,
Got the results from my head/neck CT scan back today and great news, all are normal. Still not sure what’s causing the pain in my feet/hands, but at least it eliminates anything to do with my spine. Good news there, so they’ll keep trying to figure it out. Love you all
Jory
Aloha Friends, Family, and Extended Family
We are reaching out to give you an update on our father’s continued battle against this very aggressive cancer and to ask for your support in helping us reach a new fundraising goal. Jory’s cancer has now been classified as a terminal cancer, which means that the chemotherapy treatments that he’s currently receiving could stop working tomorrow or in one to two years from now. There’s just no way of knowing. He will continue his treatments every two weeks for the remainder of his life, which means he will have to continually deal with all of the horrible side effects on a constant basis.
Even though this was a difficult diagnosis to hear our father still lives each day with a positive attitude and strives to always make those people around him smile. He still goes to work and lives his life the way that he wants to.
We mentioned this second round of fundraising earlier to meet a new goal. This goal is meant to help our dad cross off some of the items on his bucket list and lastly to help with funeral costs. We completely understand that times are tough for many of us, so any support, whether it’s financial or simply sharing this fundraiser with your network, is greatly appreciated.
Here are Jory’s bucket list items: go to Disney World again; visit Portugal and Italy; go on the Alaska Inner Passage cruise; go to a Cowboy’s home game; and then with the remainder of his time travel the United States and see historical places along with the best BBQ places.
Please keep Jory in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to battle this horrible disease and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and support.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Lum Family

Dear Friends, Family and kind-hearted souls,
We are reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the news that our beloved father, Jory, has been diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer. This diagnosis has brought immense challenges and uncertainties into our lives, and we are humbly asking for your support during this difficult time.
Jory has always been the rock of our family, a loving father, a dedicated husband, a person who selflessly put others before himself, and now he needs our help more than ever. His kind heart and unwavering support have touched countless lives, and now as he faces the rigorous treatments and medical expenses that come with battling cancer, we want to ensure that he can focus on his recovery without the added burden of financial stress.
Your generous contributions will go directly toward covering medical bills, chemotherapy treatments, doctor's appointments, and other essential expenses that come with fighting this relentless disease. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful impact on Jory's journey to recovery.
We understand that times are tough for many, and any support, whether it's financial or simply sharing this campaign with your network, is greatly appreciated. Your kindness and compassion will help provide our dad with the best possible care and increase his chances of beating this disease.
Please keep Jory in your thoughts and prayers as he embarks on this challenging road to recovery. We are eternally grateful for your love and support.
Thank you for being a part of Jory's fight against cancer.
With heartfelt gratitude,
