Support Jonah’s Recovery Journey

In November, Jonah saw a Neuro special for a neck injury and was later diagnosed with a tumor called a schwannoma. On December 5th, he underwent surgery to have the tumor removed. After surgery, he spent three challenging days in the ICU, battling severe vertigo and uncontrollable pain. He was eventually transferred to a regular room and began physical therapy, showing signs of improvement.

Jonah was discharged home to continue his recovery and therapy, but on December 20th, he had 100cc of fluid removed from his incision site. Although his doctor wasn’t initially concerned, Jonah’s condition began to decline rapidly. On December 24th, he was taken back to the hospital due to severe pain, but tests came back normal, and he was sent home.

By December 26th, Jonah’s condition worsened significantly, and his family made the decision to take him to Fargo. There, doctors discovered a severe infection in his incision, and he was on the verge of sepsis. Emergency surgery was performed to clean out the infection, and it was confirmed that he has a form of meningitis.

Today, December 27th, Jonah is undergoing another surgery to clean the infection and place a new fat graft. He will require IV antibiotics for at least two weeks, possibly longer, and his recovery will be a long and challenging journey.
