This is my friend, Johnny.

For the last 43 years, Johnny has worked in healthcare taking care of our friends, ourselves and loved ones in the operating rooms from New York to Hawaii. Twenty five of those years he spent moving from Operating Room to Operating Room. If you know Johnny, he has a personality bigger than life. He is everyone’s friend. Smart. Knowledgeable and is willing to share that with anyone who is willing to listen.

I first met Johnny at Basset hospital in 2010. He came as a traveling scrub tech following a horrible motorcycle accident and 3 year recovery. We became fast friends and he fell right into a smooth friendship with my husband. My farm and horses became an emotional haven for him.

Johnny developed a fast and hard love for horses and my barn was never more organized. ☺️

Johnny has been diagnosed with interstitial lung disease. It has now affected his life to the point where working in the OR is no longer possible. Daily oxygen, shortness of breath and unable to do day today activities.

The reason for this fundraiser…. Johnny has cared for THOUSANDS of people in his lifetime. No exaggeration. He needs our help now. Johnny has begun traveling the lung transplant road. He isn’t done working and caring for people. He tells me when we talk…. I will be back in these OR’s. Doctors say that he is so positive and is a fighter. They are amazed that he is STILL working every day.

Johnny needs our help. He has met so many people in his 64 years of friendships. Be it in the healthcare systems, the endless concerts he attended.
