My name is Laura, and I am Johnny’s soon to be sister-in-law, Allysha’s sister. I have seen first-hand the love and dedication Johnny has for his family, and I want to do everything I can to support him during this incredibly difficult time. That is why I am reaching out to ask for your help in easing some of the burden for Johnny and his family as he faces the fight of his life.

Johnny is just starting out his new family life at 39, and has just been diagnosed with leukaemia. If you know Johnny, you know his love for adventure, his pride in his beard, and the way he cares deeply for his family and friends. Being a dad, stepdad, and partner has seen him turn his life around and grow into the best family man you could ask for. He found the love of his life, they recently got engaged, and with that he gained beautiful bonus kids who love him dearly. His family is his world, and everything he has been working towards has been to give them a better future.

Johnny had been working hard to build that future, recently starting an apprenticeship to become a boilermaker and is half way through his second year. His dreams of finishing his trade, celebrating his engagement with a wedding, going on new adventures, and one day buying a home have sadly all been put on hold. Now, instead of focusing on his apprenticeship, his goals, their dreams and aspirations, Johnny is facing years of treatment.

Loosing his ability of being able to contribute to his family has been extremely hard on him, the reality that he cannot work while undergoing treatment. Bills and living expenses will continue to pile up while Johnny focuses on the hardest fight of his life, finding the strength to beat this illness. His family will provide all the love and support they can, but they cannot carry the financial weight of this journey alone.

Johnny is fun-loving, adventurous, passionate and extremely caring, but this long road will challenge him both physically and mentally, especially being confined when he longs to be out in nature, attending car shows and just hanging with the kids. Now it is our turn to stand by him and show the same kindness and support he has shown so many others, and to give him hope for the future while easing the burden of financial stress.
