Hello friends and family,

It’s hard to sit here and write this, but I’m doing so in honor of my dad John Menchaca.

My dad isn’t the type to ask for help, but is always one to extend out a helping hand. You may or may not know that my father is a kidney transplant Patient. My aunt Linda Villegas donated one of her kidneys to him 26 years ago. Normally kidneys only last about 18-20 years if they are given and received by a set of identical twins, which my dad and his sister are not . So it is truly amazing that it has lasted this long! We are all so grateful and blessed that he has been able to live his life to the fullest with this priceless gift that my aunt has given to him!

My father is known for being a barber here in Porterville for 30 years now at jacks barbershop. He truly loves his job and all of the people he has met over the years!Unfortunately, His kidney is now failing again and is currently at 18%. This means that he can no longer work at this time and is currently still waiting for his SDI.

We are now asking for donations to help him with his finances. This will include his travel expenses and new tires that he will need in order to even be able to make the drive to UCLA in late January for another biopsy of his kidney.

I know times are rough for everyone and the holidays are here. So we are more than grateful for anything that can be given to help him at this time! Prayers are also much needed and appreciated during this time!
