Early Sunday morning, my brother, Joe Kayafas, was life-flighted to the hospital after suffering a traumatic brain injury and a brain bleed. He is currently in critical condition—on a ventilator, undergoing multiple scans each day, and still unable to open his eyes.

The hardest part is the uncertainty. We don’t know what Joe’s recovery will look like. We don’t know if he’ll be able to return to doing the things he loves most—fly fishing, hiking, biking, or snowboarding. But what we do know is that we are incredibly grateful he’s still with us.

Joe is strong, but this is going to be a long, difficult road. We are starting this GoFundMe to help cover the mounting medical expenses and provide support through his recovery. Any amount helps—whether it’s $5 or $50—and all funds will go directly to his care.
