Help Support Joe Bisgard Medical Fundraiser

LIFE HAS KNOCKED HIM DOWN A FEW TIMES. IT SHOWED HIM THINGS HE NEVER WANTED TO SEE. HE HAS EXPERIENCED SADNESS AND SETBACKS.
BUT ONE THING FOR SURE, HE WILL ALWAYS GET BACK UP!
BE STRONG ENOUGH TO STAND ALONE, SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW WHEN YOU NEED HELP, AND BRAVE ENOUGH TO ASK FOR IT.
Asking for help is hard, and often times in the midst of a storm its the last and only thing one can do. So we are coming together asking you to help out during this time of need for Joe Bisgard, in order to help him during a difficult time that has been full of life changes. When moments move you there is no time like the present, when your heart speaks always listen ~ anything you can donate to help him out financially is a blessing.
Medical Bills are pilling up despite having insurance that he pays for OUT OF POCKET since he has been unable to work. When I say unable, it’s not a choice. I can’t even fathom the weight of being medically unable to provide for oneself while going through the healthcare system. Basic essentials for everyday living become overwhelming when there has been limited assistance since September of 2023, but this has been a journey of continuous surgeries since June of 2023.
Joe Bisgard, who has managed his diabetes the past five years, developed a blister on his foot that June of 2023. He spent months seeing a wound care specialist, who concluded it was time to schedule him for surgery to open the veins in his leg. That surgery resulted in the amputation of his little toe, and they ended up taking out some more of the bone on the side of his foot. His body wasn’t healing and things started to take a turn for the worse.
October 18th, 2023 he was rushed to the hospital with gangrene gas in his body. Gas gangrene is a highly lethal infection of soft tissue, caused by lots of big medical words that I won’t bore you with. But basically it is synonymous with spontaneous diabetic myonecrosis and is characterized by rapidly progressive gangrene of the injured tissue along with the production of foul-smelling gas. Myonecrosis or diabetic muscle infarction of skeletal muscle occurs when the blood supply is inadequate. I promise no more medical jargon!!
On October 20th, 2023 another surgery to exhaust the gas from his body led to his left leg being amputated below the knee. By the end of November he was fitted for a prosthesis, however, the fall he had a week prior prevented him from being able to use it until his fall injuries healed.
Fluid began to build up, which lead to his most recent surgery January 31st, where more bone was removed, the fluid drained and now a wound vac to help his body with he healing process.
As you might imagine by now, there is an enormous need, not only physically and emotionally for Joe, but financially as well.
Any help that you find in your heart to provide is greatly appreciation by family, friends and Joe.
The funds donated out of love will be for his medical bills and some living expenses during this difficult time.
