Meet James (JJ), he's a funny and smart 10 yr old boy that loves to play soccer and is Cristiano Ronaldo's biggest fan. JJ loves God, thinks "Fortnite is life"- but, can also tell you anything about space, ancient Egypt and his new fascination about Greek mythology. James is young but mighty- he is the strongest kid I know.
JJ was born with a rare disability called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. In short it just means he was born with multiple stiff joints. JJ has had 10 surgeries in his short life and this summer he will be adding his 11th and unexpected 12th to the list. These surgeries will require us to stay in Florida for 3-4 months while JJ's femur is slowly lengthened by 5cm (for now) to almost match the length of his right leg. He will also have his Achilles tendon released at the same time. A few weeks after the first surgery JJ will have his right foot reconstructed. Over the last couple of months some of the bones in JJ's foot have moved out of place and he has developed bumps on his foot. By the end of the day JJ's foot is typically swollen and in a lot of pain because of the bumps. Following both surgeries JJ will receive intensive therapy to keep JJ's legs from contracting again.
We are asking for prayers and help to pay for medical expenses and lodging since we will be away from our home state of Texas for a few months. Even the smallest amount helps tremendously.
Thank you!
Vanessa
