Hello friends and family! My name is Maureen, and my son is Jimmy Kopteros. To see all the love and support for my son is nothing short of amazing! I have created this Go Fund Me in support of him. As most/all of you know, after having his tonsils removed, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma oral cancer. This sent him on a weekly chemotherapy and daily radiation path for seven weeks. I have temporarily moved in with him to help with his day-to-day feedings, meds, etc. Even after losing over 50lbs and eating through a feeding tube, he fights! He remains the fantastic father to my grandson, and of course, his sense of humor remains in full swing. He grows stronger almost daily and has even run a few errands with me this week. Small but significant steps/signs! Now, for why we’re here… His job thankfully provides excellent insurance and paid 100% of his salary through short-term disability for the first two months. That has since dropped to 60% of his pay, and he could use our help! Perhaps you’ve worked with him; maybe you know him from the Round Up days! Maybe he has coached your child in sports! Or maybe you just want to help a humble, prideful dad who would give you the shirt off of his back in a second if you needed it! His response to me starting this was “Mom, there are so many in need these days! So many worse off than me!” But he has helped so many I wasn’t taking no for an answer!
