On September 19, 2025, our mom, Jill, was taken to the Emergency Room after a fall left her unable to move. Doctors discovered she had broken six ribs. While that alone was incredibly painful and difficult, we pushed to understand why she fell in the first place.

After nearly a week in the hospital and additional testing, we learned that she had suffered a stroke caused by a severe blockage. Jill is now being discharged from the hospital, but she requires 24/7 care until she can undergo surgery to clear the blockage. She needs constant monitoring for another stroke and is unable to do much of anything on her own. Even after surgery, she will continue to need significant care and support throughout her recovery.

Unfortunately, insurance is not covering the in-home care she needs right now.

As a family, we are doing everything we can, but we are now faced with unexpected and overwhelming costs. We are hoping insurance will cover more, but could use support until it’s figured out. Donations will go directly toward helping provide Jill with the care she needs, such as in-home support, food, cleaning services, and other essential expenses while she heals.

Any amount, big or small, will help us make sure she has the best chance at recovery.
