Help Support Nikki as She Mourns the Loss of Her Husband

My husband Jhon Henry, father of two beautiful girls and the owner of Megapixel Signs in Walla Walla has been diagnosed with cancer. He has leiomyosarcoma a type of soft tissue sarcoma that is very rare and aggressive.

We met with his oncology team at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle and the first line of treatment is a very intense chemotherapy. He will need to be hospitalized for 5 days at a time to receive chemo. After two rounds they will do scans to see if the cancer has spread and if the tumor is reacting to chemo. The tumor is the size of a cantaloupe and it is sitting on his sciatic nerve entangled in main arteries.

This has been causing him excruciating pain since February, unfortunately all the ER/Urgent Care doctors kept prescribing meds and never did blood work or imaging until late March. That gave the tumor time to grow and become more invasive. It is now growing into his pelvis and eroding the bone, putting more pressure on the sciatica. My heart hurts from watching him in so much pain for so long...

The surgeon told us that surgery for this kind of sarcoma is amputation called a hemipelvectomy. That means most likely he will be losing his left leg from the pelvis down. We are devastated, as you can imagine.

It will be impossible for him to work during these difficult times. That also means I will not be able to work the days he's in treatment as I will need to be with him for support. All of his family is in Colombia and unable to be here. Which makes it even more difficult for both of us.

Any donation of funds will be used to pay for medical treatments, traveling, lodging, meals and everyday expenses. I never thought in a million years that I would have to start a GoFundMe to help us in a fight against cancer but here we are.

Jhon said this cancer will take me to my knees but it won't take me out. He's been a pillar of strength and positivity, I admire him so much.
