As soon as you meet Jessi you immediately become invested in her story and root for her success. The basic facts are that she has Cystic Fibrosis and is currently awaiting her second lung transplant.

The longer version is that Jessi constantly deals with CF and its challenges. In addition to the reduced lung function, she lives with a feeding tube, recurring skin cancer and CF related diabetes.

When you start to put it all in writing, it is easy to think of Jessi's story as a list of ailments. Those of us that care about her know that this list is such a small part of who she is.

Jessi loves fiercely. Her family and her dogs are everpresent in her stories and it is readily evident how important they are to her. Throughout her health challenges Jessi has continued to work, whenever she is able, while also volunteering as a board member for the CF Foundation to help raise funds and awareness.

Through her Jessi's Journey Facebook page, she shares her story with grace and humor. She takes her health needs in stride, without complaint. She is also remarkably honest about the impact of these challenges on her mental health.

Throughout her life, Jessi has impacted all of us. This is an opportunity for all of us who love her to help support her medical expenses while she awaits transplant.

Jessi would never ask for this help directly but we know that she could use it. She recently had a "dry run". That means that she was called for transplant, transported to Cleveland and then sent home due to an issue with the lungs. This is not just an emotionally devastating outcome, it is financially challenging as well.
