I’m reaching out on behalf of my friend Jes, who has been navigating an incredibly difficult stretch of life while continuing to show up for her family and responsibilities every single day.

Jes is a devoted mom to two young girls and works both a full-time job and a part-time job to provide for them. Recently, she’s been hit with a series of unexpected challenges all at once.

She underwent thyroid surgery, something no one plans for, and while insurance and her FSA covered much of it, she is still facing $4, 147 in out-of-pocket medical expenses.

On top of that, she had a necessary dental procedure that is costing another $1,000 out of pocket.

As if that weren’t enough, her car was stolen. Although it was eventually recovered weeks later, the situation led to weeks of disruption and unexpected expenses including $375 for Key and Unlock and rental insurance at $400.

Through all of this, Jes has continued working, parenting, and pushing forward without complaint—but the financial weight of everything hitting at once is overwhelming.

We’re hoping to come together as a community to help ease some of that burden so she can focus on healing, stability, and caring for her girls.
