Help Support Jenn in Her Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Jenn, my sister and best friend, is a 44-year-old wife to Chris Ross, mother of 4 children, and grandmother to two, who has been diagnosed unexpectedly with cancer. We lost our mother to breast cancer 7 years ago at the young age of 53, so you can only imagine how devastated we all were to receive this news.
Mid-January, Jenn went into the ER for shortness of breath and chronic heartburn. Within hours, doctors discovered she had a 6cm mass on her lung (which has now grown to 7.5cm) and was told it was likely cancer but needed to be confirmed with a biopsy. After weeks of testing and doctor appointments, she was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma (UPS) High Grade Soft Tissue Sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer. She now faces a difficult fight, beginning with 5 months of chemotherapy to hopefully shrink the tumor before undergoing a complete removal of her right lung and removal of a section of her heart as the tumor has spread to it. There’s also a possibility of the need for radiation, but that cannot be determined until chemo is finished.
There is a long road ahead, and with Jenn having to take off 9-12 months from work, travel and lodging at Dana Farber in Boston, and medical bills, the financial burden is overwhelming. Any donation, no matter the size, would mean the world to her, ensuring she gets the care she needs and relieves her of any financial worry so she can focus on treatment and healing. We all appreciate your love and support during this incredibly difficult time.
