Help Support Jazmyn's Siezure Medical Recovery Journey

This is Jazmyn. She is a 14 year old Rat Terrier mix breed dog. I adopted her as a baby from a local animal shelter, and she has been in my life the entire time. On May 11, 2025, Mother's Day, around 7:30pm, Jazmyn suffered a massive attack! It was the scariest thing I've ever encountered with her! She was foaming at the mouth. Her legs were stretched out. She appeared to be dizzy, and was swirling her head in circles. Her body was contorted. Visually, the only way I can describe it is that she seemed to be possessed by a demon. This is the very first time in her entire life that she has suffered an attack of this nature. It was one solid continual episode without any interruptions for 2 1/2 hours! After finally admitting her into a 24 hour emergency veterinarian care clinic around 10pm, she was immediately taken in back and was put on an I.V. and was being treated as a siezure patient. The doctor was confused and concerned as to how and why this attack lasted as long as it did (2 1/2 hours) without any intervals because normal siezures last 2 to 5 minutes between intervals. After Jazmyn calmed down from the attack, the doctor could only assess that she was suffering from a grand mal siezure. Her tests came back showing that her liver levels were high, and also that her liver was abnormally smaller than usual for a dog of her breed, size, and age. The doctor was considering an MRI (due to the lengthy time of her episode, and because siezures affect the neurological system) but only if it was necessary (because if an MRI is administered to a dog at her age, it may have some complications). They wanted to keep her there for 12 to 24 hours for observation under siezure protocol before they made any decisions though. Luckily, Jazmyn remained siezure-free during that time frame and was released and free to return home the next afternoon pending a follow-up visit, and also to be under strict monitoring and medication that had to be followed as directed. I was also informed that she will most likely suffer more siezure attacks throughout the remainder of what is left of her life, along with having to continue to take her siezure medication as well (which will need to be refilled on a regular basis). I am continually praying for her and her health. Jazmyn has proven time and time again to be a fighter! She is a brave little girl and is letting me know that it is not time for her to cross over that Rainbow Bridge! As is with most hospitals and emergency clinics, her medical bill ended up being sky high. This came at a very bad time in my life as I am unemployed and have been actively seeking employment. We are in dire need of help to pay her astronomical medical bills and her medication. Please consider helping. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
