Help support Jayde and her family
It is with a very heavy heart that we start this fundraiser, in support of our friend Jayde and her beautiful family.
On the 12th March, Edmund Wong - Jayde’s loving husband and father to their son Xavier - lost his fight with a devastatingly short battle with cancer.
Last Christmas, Ed, Jayde and Xavier shared the exciting news of a new baby on the way, arriving in May 2021. The new year held so much excitement and promise.
Shortly after New Year’s Eve, Ed received a sudden diagnosis of advanced stage 4 metastatic esophagael cancer.
The cancer was inoperable. Jayde was 20 weeks pregnant. Their world was shattered.
Only three rounds of chemo and nine weeks later, Ed sadly passed away.
Ed was a devoted and adoring father to two-and-a-half-year-old Xavier. Sadly his unborn second son will never experience the warmth of his father’s hug or play music with his immensely talented Dad.
Instead of celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary, Jayde was making arrangements for Ed’s memorial service. After knowing and loving each other for 13 years, this loss was beyond deep.
Our brave Jayde is now 33 weeks pregnant and due to give birth at the end of May. An overwhelming time for any mum-to-be but Jayde now faces this next chapter without her soulmate by her side.
My name is Rachael, I worked with Jayde for over five years at Make-A-Wish - a place where every day, she would help families going through the most difficult time of their lives. It’s now that time for Jayde and her growing family.
