Edit-Jay is home!! He is desperately in need of medications that are thousands of dollars. Please help this family in any way you can. Thanks so much. Be blessed!

Hi everyone. My name is Richelle and I am dear friends with the Hanna Family. I am reaching out with a heavy heart and a deep sense of urgency to ask for your support for my dear friends, Jasper and Jennifer, who are facing an incredibly difficult and uncertain time. Their lives have been drastically affected by a horrible accident that happened on Monday, April 28, 2025. In addition to mounting medical expenses, there are daily living costs, travel for treatments, and other unforeseen financial needs that are quickly adding up. I am hoping to come together as a community — as friends, family, and extended support — to help relieve some of the financial stress so Jay and Jen can focus fully on healing and recovery.

Here is their story:
Jay and Jen Hanna were finally in a good place for Jay to replace his motorcycle after having to give it up due to years of high medical bills from Jen's near-death experience and years of rehabilitation to get back on her feet. He purchased the motorcycle on Monday and in less than an hour later while on his way home he was hit by a truck with a trailer. He is suffering from a compound fracture to his left leg, kneecap and wrist. For those of you who don't know, Jay was born with a club foot of his left leg and has had many surgeries starting at 6 days old. His whole life he has feared that he may have to have it amputated someday. This fear is now substantial! After the accident he was brought to McLaren Hospital in Petoskey where he remains in ICU. He had his first surgery on his left leg immediately upon his arrival and is scheduled for another on today with HOPES to save his leg. Prayers are greatly appreciated.

Jay is the soul financial provider of his home as Jen is disabled with chronic illness after her near-death experience that has left her as a Type 3 Diabetic. This is a type of diabetes where you have NO pancreas. She is on insulin for life which is a huge expense amongst her other chronic medications.

Jay is a truck driver and works an enormous number of hours weekly just to care for his family. This is going to be a long recovery in HOPES to get him walking and back to work again however, the future is uncertain.

Jay is an amazing man, father, husband, grandfather and friend. He has 2 daughters, Kati and Carmyn and 7 grandchildren who love him to pieces. He is the rock and foundation of the whole family bringing love and encouragement to everyone he runs into. Not only is he an amazing family man but he is always willing to help those in need in the community too. He would take the shirt off his back to help anyone! Let’s lift this incredible family up and stay financially stable through this difficult time!

No amount is too small, and every prayer, kind word, and act of generosity makes a difference. If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this page with others who may be able to help. Your love and support mean more than words can express.

Thank you for your compassion, your prayers, and your generosity.
