Jaxon is almost 3 years old. He receives services through early intervention for his speech and language delays. These services expire when he turns 3 on January 14th so he will begin the process of transitioning into preschool. Jaxon was born with a series of complications one of which is permanent moderately severe conductive hearing loss in his right ear. This is secondary to microtia and atresia which means he was born with a small ear and no ear canal. He has no outer or middle ear which means he only has his inner ear. This makes it difficult for him to communicate and learn at the same level as his peers. He is diagnosed with a 15-18 month old speech level with gaps presenting still in his 6-12 month old language. We are currently going through the Whitman-Hanson school district to find out placement for Jaxon. However, the school district is not understanding or willing to provide Jaxon with the necessary tools and environment to succeed in learning. The Clark School for Hearing and Speech has a preschool program that will provide Jaxon with the environment and necessary tools. There will be kids there that have the same speech and hearing issues that Jaxon has so he will be comfortable in his learning space. He will be able to interact with children “like him” and get the level of attention he needs from the staff to make sure he has a successful learning experience. He will have a one on one speech teacher, teacher of the deaf and many more services that will help him succeed. This go fund me page is so we can get an advocate for Jaxon to fight for him to make sure he gets the correct placement that he needs and deserves. She will fight to make sure my son’s voice will be heard and that he won’t slip through the cracks. I didn’t want to start a go fund me page, but I’m not getting anywhere with making sure Jaxon gets the correct help he needs. Any amount will be greatly appreciated in helping my son get the education he deserves.
