Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,
We are reaching out to you on behalf of a remarkable family facing an incredibly difficult time. My close friend, Mackenzie’s father was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS, two years ago, and his condition has worsened significantly. On May 18, he was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the ICU due to severe breathing difficulties, leading to the need for a tracheostomy. While he is now in a rehab facility and making progress towards returning home, the road ahead remains challenging.
As full-time caregiver, Mackenzie’s mother, Carly, has had to step away from her job, Mackenzie is also taking on the role of caregiver, along with her sister, Jacey. This transition has come with a heavy emotional and financial burden. The family is facing mounting medical bills from hospital stays and rehabilitation, along with the everyday challenges of adjusting to their new circumstances.
Our goal is to raise enough to help ease the financial strain on the Steamer family. These funds will support daily living expenses, caregiving supplies, and medical bills, allowing them to focus on their father’s recovery without the constant worry of financial hardship.
In addition to providing financial support, we also aim to raise awareness about ALS and the struggles faced by families battling this disease. Your contributions will not only make a profound difference in their lives but will also help shine a light on the challenges associated with ALS.
