Support Jason in His Fight Against Neuroendocrine Cancer

Donation protected
On August 27th, our family’s world was turned upside down. At just 49 years old, my brother-in-law Jason was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, a devastating blow after already spending years battling Crohn’s disease, multiple bouts of sepsis, and most recently, septic arthritis.

He has always been a fighter. Diagnosed with Crohn’s in 2013, he has faced every health challenge with courage and strength. Through it all, he has remained steady, selfless, and deeply committed to the people he loves, always showing up for others, no matter what he was going through himself.

Last year, Jason and my sister made a selfless decision: they purchased a larger home with the intention of moving his aging parents in so they could care for them as a family. In May of this year, they packed up his parents and brought them to live together under one roof. They never imagined that just a few months later, they'd be facing a cancer diagnosis that would turn their lives upside down.

Jason is now undergoing a mix of modern and holistic treatments, traveling to clinics in Pennsylvania and Kansas, and preparing to begin chemotherapy next week. Currently, his cancer is inoperable, and all the treatments he is undergoing are focused on shrinking the cancer and getting him to a point where surgery to fully remove his colon will be possible. He recently underwent surgery to receive a stoma in preparation for this.

As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming. Both Jason and my sister are able to work minimally, if at all, due to the demands of his treatment and caregiving responsibilities. They are now facing the heartbreaking decision to sell their home, the very home they bought to care for his parents, in order to keep up with medical bills, travel costs, and everyday living expenses.

Jason has never been just an "in-law" to us, he’s been a true brother, a trusted friend, and a constant source of strength, support, and laughter. From the moment he became part of our lives, he fit into our family like he was always meant to be there, always showing up with kindness, humility, and a willingness to help anyone in need. And of course, he’s never far from a perfectly timed joke or a witty comeback, even in the toughest moments. He’s the kind of person who puts others first, even when he’s the one in pain.

We are asking for your help. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward:

* Ongoing medical treatments and procedures

* Holistic and alternative therapies not covered by insurance

* Travel and lodging expenses for out-of-state treatments

* Living expenses while he focuses on healing

* Support for relocating and caring for his parents during this time

This journey has been incredibly hard for our entire family, but we are standing strong together, and with your support, we know we can give Jason the fighting chance he deserves.
