Greetings to Jamila’s family, chosen family, friends, and loved ones. On March 9, Jamila cheerfully and with great anticipation bought a beautiful birthday bike to celebrate. Sadly, Jamila had an accident and broke their leg and tore ligaments two days ahead of turning 31.

We just found out that Jamila will need surgery, and it will take place on March 24. Jamila will have to remain in bed in our home for the next 4-6 weeks to fully recover. Jamila and I have strategized and brought in items to make the house accessible and to ensure Jam can be safely mobile on the 3rd floor, where they will spend their time, as needed (e.g., a walker, wheelchair, temporary suction bars).
