Help Support My Dad After a Devastating Head-On Collision

On Friday, July 11th my dad Jamil Braithwaite— a 23 year UPS driver — was hit head-on while working, by someone who fell asleep at the wheel. His truck was totaled, and his body suffered unimaginable trauma.

He sustained:

    •    A fractured femoral head

    •    A shattered patella (knee cap) that had to be surgically reconstructed

    •    A shattered ankle and foot, with extensive internal damage

    •    Every muscle, tendon, and small bone in his foot was detached and had to be reattached with permanent pins and plates

    •    A concussion from hitting his head on the steering wheel

    •    A large hematoma on his jaw

He’s now facing multiple surgeries, a long and uncertain recovery, and the heartbreaking reality that his quality of life — and his ability to work — may never be the same.

My dad has always been strong, hardworking, and proud to serve his community through his job. But this accident has left him unable to walk, work, or provide for himself. The road to recovery will be long and expensive, filled with rehab, physical therapy, medical bills, and home modifications.

We’re asking for help to relieve the immediate overwhelming financial burden ahead — and to give my dad the space to focus fully on healing.
