Some of you know that back in 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have surgery and radiation treatment. At the time, the surgeon gave me two choices: to either have a lumpectomy or a double mastectomy. I was immediately overwhelmed with this decision because I knew I was never comfortable with breasts but also knew that this surgeon was not a gender-affirming doctor. It all felt so rushed, so I chose a lumpectomy and then radiation during COVID times. IT WAS ROUGH!!!!

Over the last few years, I have learned from so many young non-binary humans about feeling comfort in your own skin, embracing who you are, and growing into yourself with more comfort every day. I'm still learning. I did question whether doing this at my age was necessary or even smart given the political climate. And it is a thousand percent yes, not only for myself but for all the young people I can support along the way. Showing them that there are many good and great humans that will listen, help guide them, and share personal experiences that may spark hope. This is just another beginning, a part of my journey that I get to share with the multitude of feelings that come along with it. I lead a life full of creativity, vulnerability, joy, exploration, and sometimes messy failures. I have never regretted any of it.

I can use any support you are willing or able to give since my full recovery time will be 6 weeks. Any money raised will go towards copayment, which is approximately $6500 we think; it may be less, and any costs related to taking time off.
