Help support Jamie Saxe through Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Our dear friend and brother Jamie, is facing an extremely challenging and painful journey through some pretty brutal Cancer Treatments!
He needs our support!
On June 23, 2025 Jamie will begin Radiation Treatment AND Chemotherapy to fight a fast growing cancer which has appeared in his throat.
This unwelcome intruder has apparently metastasized from a cancer which began in Jamie’s tonsils, which until recently, had gone undetected.
We are raising money to help Jamie and his family through this tough time, as he will be unable to work and his partner Emily will be caring for him throughout treatment, so the loss of income will hit hard.
There are also a number of ongoing costs which will be incurred during this time, some of which are outlined below….So any donation big or small will be gratefully received.
The Radiation and Chemo treatments will continue for almost two months at the Austin Hospital, which is more than a 100 km round trip from Jamie and Emily’s home, 5 days a week for a seven week period.
Jamie has also had to undergo some really intense dental treatments leading up to the cancer treatments, as issues with his oral health meant his teeth would become too vulnerable during the upcoming treatments.
The cost of these dental procedures as well as future restorative procedures are not covered by Medicare or included in his overall Cancer Treatment Protocol.
Prior to learning of Jamie’s current medical condition, he and Emily had planned to visit the UK so Emily could introduce Jamie to her family! Unfortunately, despite letters from doctors and oncologists, the airline is refusing to refund the cost of the airfares, which of course is another financial blow they are facing before treatments have even started!
As Jamie’s sister, I have tried to simply stick to the facts and not be too emotional, but I will say, as someone who has been through gruelling cancer treatments myself, any support we can offer Jamie and his family both financially and emotionally will be so worthy!
This fundraiser will be open for a few months so even if you are able to make a small contribution a couple of times, every bit helps!
Thank you for reading this far…and thank you for loving and supporting Jamie, Jamwah Buzznik, the man behind the Ergot Derivative, my big brother, our friend!!
