As some of you may or may not know, my dear brother-in-law Jamie Connolly has been battling cancer for the past 9 months and has recently received the unthinkable news, that it is incurable.

Jamie moved his life back to his hometown in the UK from Sydney in November 2024, to help care for his terminally ill father. Cass and Frankie (2) soon followed, with Cass and Jamie also securing full time employment.

In February 2025, we received the wonderful news that little Will would be joining the Connolly family later that year in October!

A few months after arriving in the UK their world, as they knew it was about to be turned on its head. Jamie’s father passed in June 2025, and then a mere two weeks later Jamie was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer.

Anyone who knows Jamie would understand that he would do whatever it takes to fight this terrible disease, motivated to secure as much time as possible with his young family. He endured a 19-hour life changing major surgery in August, a brutal regime of chemotherapy and radiotherapy across October and November, and lastly a regime of immunotherapy coupled with two chemotherapy’s which finished just last month.

The Connolly's have been fighting this battle privately but with this recent devastating news, Jamie has a wish to return to Sydney, to the place where he met and married Cassie and started their beautiful family. He wants to spend what days he does have left with his wife and children surrounded by their loving network of family and friends.
