BRAIN TUMORS SUCK! Help support Jaliyah Lawrence

Hello everyone, my name is Janice Peters-Lawrence. My husband James Lawrence and I have a beautiful 12 year old daughter name Jaliyah Lawrence. This past week and a half, has been life changing, scary, and a blessing all at once. Four weeks before this incident Jaliyah showed signs of behavioral changes, headaches, neck pain, dizziness, and sleep changes. We weren’t the only ones concerned and saw these changes, her school saw these changes as well. In these weeks leading up to her incident, we received phone calls from her school nurse, teachers, and her dean who all care for her dearly.

April 26 2022 Jaliyah had an incident where they could not get her up off of the pe floor. She felt tired and confused and we were called to pick her up Immediately. Her dean proceeded to tell us about the changes we had seen at home. We immediately called her primary doctor who then told us to take her to Nemours medical hospital here in Orlando Florida. We waited to be seen for five hours, once seen and given all of the pertinent information to the doctors, little did we know what was to come next. The emergency room doctor requested a CT scan of the head, no less then 15 minutes had passed when she pulled my husband and I out the room, she proceeded to tell us that are baby girl has a brain tumor. In less than 48 hours our daughter was transferred to Wolfsons children’s hospital in Jacksonville Florida, where she was swooped away for immediate brain surgery. I’m happy and blessed to say that even though this past week has been terrifying, we are blessed to have Jaliyah with us. Her surgery went well and her body is responding to it very well. We now have to go back to Jacksonville where Jaliyah has to undergo proton radiation treatment for 6 weeks. I am asking for help with medical expenses as I will not be able to work during this time in order to care consistently for Jaliyah while she undergoes this treatment.
