Help Support Jacob and His Family Through His Cancer Journey
In April 2025, Brad and Amy’s world was turned upside down when their beautiful little boy Jacob, just 7 years old, was diagnosed with a kidney tumour. What followed was every parent’s worst nightmare — emergency hospital visits, intensive treatment, and long, emotional stays at both the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RDE) and Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Jacob has already bravely undergone initial chemotherapy and a major operation to remove one of his kidneys. The next stage of his journey includes three weeks of radiotherapy in Bristol followed by an intensive 40-week course of chemotherapy. Throughout it all, Jacob has shown incredible courage, but this battle is far from over.
The impact on their family has been immense. Amy, a devoted primary school teacher, has had to take long-term leave to care for Jacob full-time. Brad, a hardworking postman, has also had to take significant time off work to support his family and travel back and forth from hospital. They are doing everything they can to keep life as stable as possible for Jacob and their youngest child, Sophie, who is just 6 years old and misses her big brother when he’s in hospital.
The financial and emotional strain is growing. With reduced income, constant travel between Exeter and Bristol, and the high cost of living, the family is facing mounting pressures. They have always been the first to help others — now they need a little help themselves.
This fundraiser is to help ease the burden — covering travel costs, lost income, and day-to-day expenses, so that Brad and Amy can focus on what truly matters: helping Jacob fight this battle and keeping Sophie’s world as calm and normal as possible during such a chaotic time.
Every donation, no matter how small, means the world to this family. If you can’t donate, sharing their story would be a huge help too.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
