Hello everyone, it is difficult for us to write this but the past week has been the saddest,  most heartbroken week of our life.

A couple weeks ago the doctor ran a bunch of blood tests to find out why our son was having a bump growing on the left side of his neck that started to spread in different parts of his body,  since they were not going away with antibiotics. 

While we were out celebrating his birthday on Sunday, March 10th the doctor called us to tell us that we had to take him straight to the emergency room because the Oncology team were waiting for us.

When we got there they started to run more tests on him and when they got the results they pulled us into another room to tell us that our son has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Our world collapsed in a blink of an eye. They reassured us that it was not our fault and not genetic, it was at random.

They allowed us to take him home that night so that the following day we could celebrate his actual birthday, March 11,  with the whole family.  He just turned 8 years old.

The hardest part was the fact that we had tell him that we would have to take him back to the hospital because he has cancer. We cried together, but we reassured him that we will get through this together and that his dream of becoming a superhero became true. 

For the last week he was in the hospital and will have to receive  chemotherapy treatments for the next 3 to 3.5 years.

We will have to take time off from work for the unknown future to take care of him, and our daughter. All funds raised will go towards his medical bills and living expenses.

Please help us reach our goal and help support Ivan to defeat cancers butt!
