Hello my name is Isac Rodriguez im 38 and the head of house hold supporting my fiance and son. On 11/28/2022 I suffered from 5 strokes causing me to be rushed to the ER, that lead to a extended hospital stay and emergency surgery.
On 11/28 when I was taken to the ER I didn't realize I was knocking on Deaths door. After MRIs CTs and other test it was found that I had 5 strokes and a blood clot was found in the artery in my neck. The Dr's said this blood clot is not logged and can move up to the brain at any time and was a ticking time bomb. Besides dealing with this I was also not mentally fully aware or processing correctly due to the stroke and had numbness, weakness and some mobility loss to my left side.
Dr's did a emergency surgery called carotid endarterectomy to remove the blood clot from the right artery in my neck. After the surgery during recovery they preformed a TEE which is a camera ultrasound in your heart where they found a Tunnle / hole in my heart that requires a surgery to close up.
After almost 2 weeks of been in the hospital I was finally able to go home and recover. Unfortunately the world has not stopped or slowed down and I still have to cover house hold expenses for me and my family while dealing with medical expenses.
With the extended hospital stay, constant medical test and labs, multiple surgeries and procedures along with physical therapy medical expenses have pilled up. I also require 4 different daily medications. Thankfully medical insurance has helped but it dose not cover all cost of everything that has been done in the hospital , follow up Dr visits and prescriptions.
As I recover and get stronger for myself and my family I still am the main bread winner and have to cover expenses.
