On November 08, 2019 a Correctional Officer at Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, WI  was severely assaulted by an inmate while on duty. The Officer suffered many injuries including severe brain trauma and had to be transported to Divine Savior Hospital and then to UW Hospital in Madison WI where he was treated and later released. It will be a long road to recovery which will include 24/7 care and many hospital trips for Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy. The staff at Columbia Correctional are asking if anyone could donate any amount of money that would help cover gas, food and any other expenses that will arise during his recovery as he will be out of work for unknown amount of time.
