Help our Hugo #HoH

Donation protected
Wednesday 1st December brought the longest 12 hrs in my life.  12 hrs of me crying, fretting and family travelling back up home to be with us and my other 3 dogs.

At 8.05am my gorgeous Hugo Boss collapsed outside with no use of his back legs. I rushed him to my vets where he was referred as an emergency up to their emergency practice as having stage 3/4 IVDD. We had called our insurance, but no matter how much we paid per month as we had claimed for nerve damage within the year for him they refused to let us claim again.

For those who know IVDD within dachshund the procedures can be VERY expensive! We took Hugo to the emergency referrals at 1pm (still crying ) where Hugo just cried too and just stared at us with his gorgeous big bug eyes. The amazing vet was so gentle with him and all the staff were so lovely with us ( me by this time a wreck ). They said they would do some tests with the spinal surgeon and we gave Hugo hugs, kissed him and said goodbye for now.  We went home to get a phone call saying the cost would be about £5500!  We spent all afternoon trying EVERYTHING to get the money together.

At 5pm we finally came to the conclusion we were defeated and realised there was no way we could could up with that kind of  money.. Our only option being to put our beautiful Hugo boss to sleep.... I called the vets and let them, know our devastating decision.  It was just horrendous knowing because of money we couldn't save our Hugo... I couldn't go up to the vets as my heart was broken so Colin and our girls headed up to say their goodbyes to him.. I prayed....for the first time in years.

Half an hour later Colin called from the vets. Each vet is allowed one deserving case a year which they can allocate a fund to and support financially.. One vet had chosen Hugo... They said he deserved a chance and they had all fallen in love with him. This now took the cost from £5500 to £3000 and I just couldn't believe it.. Hugo had a chance to be saved.. my beautiful  bug eyed boy..

Very close family friends helped us find the initial deposit the vets were asking for and then another AMAZING family offered to help with a donation.. I was overwhelmed ... Because of some AMAZING people my gorgeous Hugo is having his MRI this morning and his IVDD surgery.   We are now launching this GO FUND ME page to help with the remaining bill for HUGO BOSS.. Even if its 10p please donate what you can.

The fundraising drive will run until Friday 17th December.

Please share with all you know to help save our Hugo and get him the  medical care he needs.  We will as a family be eternally grateful.
