This past weekend, our lives changed in an instant.

While helping a friend trim trees, Hoss fell 25–30 feet from a tree, suffering severe injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered fractures to his T12 and L1 vertebrae. He underwent an extensive spinal fusion surgery, requiring rods and screws from T11 to L4 to stabilize his spine. Shortly after, he needed an additional surgery to repair complications related to a post-operative drain.

Hoss is currently in the ICU and is expected to remain there for at least 5 days before moving to a step-down unit. His journey doesn’t end there—he will require ongoing care, including outpatient physical therapy, and faces a long road to recovery. Doctors estimate a minimum of 4 months before he may be able to return to work, and that timeline depends on a smooth recovery without complications.

Hoss is the main provider for his family—a devoted husband and a loving father to four children at home who depend on him every day. During this time, the financial burden of medical bills, daily living expenses, and lost income will be overwhelming, even with insurance.
