HARD-WORKING TEACHER AND FAMILY IN NEED OF HELP!

Dearest family, friends, neighbors, and kind-hearted strangers,

I never imagined I would find myself writing a GoFundMe, but here I am. I worked hard to earn my teaching credential and have dedicated nearly 12 years to working in education. Teaching has always been more than a job to me—it has been a calling and the way I have provided for my family as a single mom.

Unfortunately, this year has been incredibly difficult for us financially.

I am currently still only working part-time as a teacher, and while I am grateful to be in the classroom, the limited hours simply are not enough to keep up with our expenses. Our bills continue to pile up, and our rent has become almost impossible to manage. Like many families in our area, our rent is outrageously high, but moving somewhere cheaper isn’t an option right now because we simply cannot afford the costs of relocating.

I do everything I can to bring in extra income. During my off hours I try to pick up substitute teaching jobs, but those opportunities are scarce. I will also be driving for a door-to-door delivery service at night, hoping it would help fill the financial gap, but those jobs are inconsistent and pay only small amounts for each delivery. Even working day and night, it still isn’t enough.

On top of that, my daughters’ financial aid has run out, and both of them are about to graduate. I am incredibly proud of them, but it has added even more financial pressure on our family.

At this late point in the school year, finding another part-time teaching position just isn't possible, so we are stuck trying to stretch what little income we have. We are barely managing to keep a roof over our heads, and pay for all of our utilities on time. We are also falling behind on car payments and insurance, which we need in order to keep working. We are doing everything we can, but the reality is that we are barely scraping by.

Even in the middle of this hardship, I hold tightly to my faith. I believe with all my heart that Jehovah Jireh—our Lord and Provider—will open the door for a full-time teaching position that is meant for me next school year. Until that blessing arrives, however, we need help making it through this difficult season.
