Love and support for Greg and Kelly

In late December, our friend and golf pro Greg Neate was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He had been struggling with some shoulder pain last summer then, when he started having pain in his ribs and discovered a lump on the back of his head, an MRI was ordered, and biopsy done which revealed it was cancer.

He and his loving partner Kelly were the result of a very successful match-making idea I had 3 years ago. I knew they were both a bit shy, but I had a feeling they would get along great. And they did! They quickly fell in love and looked forward to travelling and growing old together. Kelly put a total pause on her career and her life to be by Greg’s side for every appointment to ensure he’s getting the best care possible. She listens and implements the instructions from his medical team, manages his medications, takes care of their house, and makes sure his beautiful daughter Ava gets time with Dad for snuggles and laughs.

Due to this form of cancer being so rare and aggressive, it can be harder to find the right regimen of chemo drugs. Each round is grueling, both physically and mentally, and so far, they haven’t been able to find the right mix. For Greg and Kelly, it feels like every time they’re moving forward, they get knocked back down again. The latest news is that the cancer is now in his bone marrow Greg was admitted to hospital in late June and is still there. Greg and Kelly have held each other up through every set back, trying to focus on today and stay positive.

We are hoping to raise money to help this remarkably brave couple cover medical and life expenses, so they can continue to focus on holding each other up and so Kelly can continue to be by Greg’s side, without having to worry about the financial pressures of putting her career on hold.
