On December 13, 2025 my mother was hit by a drunk driver who was speeding down an icy street and lost control, hitting her and her vehicle. Because she was standing outside her car when the truck crashed, the impact sent her airborne into the middle of the street, where she hit a vehicle coming the opposite way. She suffered a broken arm, six broken ribs, a liver laceration, a cardiac contusion, and a bruised colon and duodenum. She had to be rushed to the hospital as she was in critical condition. During her time in the ER, she became unstable and had to have emergency surgery due to internal bleeding concerns. She also had to have another emergency procedure to drain blood from around her lungs. She will also have to have a surgery for her broken arm.

The driver’s vehicle also crashed her car into a power pole which made a live line collapse and caused both the driver’s car and my mom’s car to ignite in flames, totaling her car.
