On Sunday, 18th May, our family, friends, will be joining us on a special sponsored 7.9km walk and picnic at Palmer Park in Reading, to raise funds for vital equipment and adaptations for my incredible 8-year-old son, Gabriel. In addition, 10% of the funds raised will be donated to Action Duchenne, a charity dedicated to supporting families affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Gabriel has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a progressive muscle-wasting condition that affects every aspect of his daily life. Despite the challenges, he faces each day with so much courage, joy, and determination. To help him maintain independence and improve his quality of life, we are fundraising for essential equipment such as electric wheels for his wheelchair and crucial adaptations in our home.

During the walk, Gabriel will be leading the way on his specially adapted trike, accompanied by our loyal dog, while our amazing team of family and friends walks alongside him. This journey is not just about fundraising; it's about raising awareness and ensuring Gabriel has the support he needs to thrive.

At this stage, we are still working out the total amount needed, but this will be an ongoing fundraising effort, with more events planned in the future. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference in providing Gabriel with the freedom and comfort he deserves.
