Jose (Gabriel’s Brother):

On the morning of October 31, our family received news that no family ever wants to hear. My brother, Gabriel, had been shot while inside his own home.

There was a shooting nearby in west Wichita, and gunfire struck several homes and vehicles in the area. One of those bullets entered my brother’s home and struck him.

Gabriel was at home with his family when all of this happened. It’s hard to wrap my head around how quickly something like this can change everything.

We’re incredibly thankful that my brother is still here with us. His injuries required surgery, and while we’re grateful he’s alive, we know he has a road to recovery ahead of him.

With the holidays coming up, the last thing I want is for my brother and his family to have to worry about how they’re going to manage everything on top of what they’ve already been through.

I’m hoping this GoFundMe can help with medical expenses, possible time away from work, household bills, and whatever else they may need while he recovers.

I can’t take away what happened to my brother, but I want to do whatever I can to make things a little easier for him and his family.
