Help Support Francis Kenny

Once again, I come to the public, friends and family, to ask for help because of a difficult situation.
Early Saturday morning, February 26, 2023, my granddaughter Francis was involved in a bad accident. She was the passenger in a car, traveling on Interstate 81 in Enola, PA. She was coming home from working an overnight shift with friends when they saw a car stopped ahead with hazards on. They pulled over to render aid if necessary, and after speaking with the occupants of that car, got back in their grey Toyota Yaris to continue home. A blue 18- wheeler hit them, pushing them into the stopped vehicle. The truck did not stop.
Francis got the worst of it. She has 3 fractures in her face, 3 brain bleeds, her skull is fractured, and she has a bad concussion. She has numerous injuries all over her body - cuts, scrapes and bruises, as well as whiplash. She is leaking cerebrospinal fluid from her nose. She goes in and out of consciousness, does not remember the accident, and is in a lot of pain. The doctors' main concern is her brain - the swelling and the bleeds - and depending on how that continues, she may need surgery. She is also being watched for possible facial reconstruction. We won't know the true extent of her injuries for a few more days. She is in critical but stable condition. Her prognosis is guarded.
Our family is so proud of Francis. She is living on her own near Harrisburg, and is making a life for herself on her terms. Because of this accident, and the criminal action of the hit-and-run driver, her progress is certainly stalled, if not stopped altogether. Francis has insurance, but her deductibles are high. She was supporting herself, and now will certainly be out of work for some time. She will need medical care through her hospital stay, however long that turns out to be, and then some kind of rehabilitative care as well.
Because the truck driver is unknown, and the car she was riding in does not have coverage for this situation, she is really in a bad position.
There is a chance the truck driver will be apprehended. It is an ongoing investigation, but right now no one has come forward, and they do not have the leads necessary to solve this. Of course, we all pray that a witness will be located, or the driver will do the right thing. However, until then, there will be no financial help coming Francis's way.
We are asking for help so that money can be put aside for inevitable unpaid medical costs, loss of wages, and replacement of personal property. Family members will be staying near Francis with friends for now, so there aren't any costs involved there, but there will be expenses involved in travel as well as lost wages for extended family. Our main concern, however, is that Francis gets the best care possible, and we would like to have a financial cushion to pay those bills. The medical expenses are first and foremost.
If you could spare any amount on Francis's behalf, no matter how small, we would appreciate it. This site will be updated regularly by Frank and Sheena Kenny, Francis's dad and mom, or by me, Stacy Ludy, her grandmother. Our family has been hit by tragedy more than once, and I hate to ask for help, but we are truly thankful for the love and support we have been shown.
If anyone has any information regarding this accident, please call the police or message us on Facebook. We will get back to you. If you can do us the favor of sharing this fundraiser, we appreciate it.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Remember, if we all do a little, a little does a lot.
