Help & Support for the Roseberry Family

Donation protected
On December 15th shortly after Steve Roseberry arrived at work a co-worker recognized that he was showing signs of a stroke. The co-worker acted quickly and got Steve to the hospital. He was then transferred to Rhode Island Hospital. A big concern at this point was to get the swelling down in his cranium. He went through a feeding test and ate mushed up turkey and gravy. They offered him broccoli, but he refused! (As his wife said - "that's Roseberry!!!!"). Up until this point his family was unable to see him. It was on December 18th that he was stepped down and taken out of the ICU. They were finally able to see him. On December 21st Steve was transferred to Spaulding Acute Rehab Hospital where he receives daily PT, OT, and Speech Therapy. They did a test to rule out any other possible clots in his heart and lungs which all came back clear! At Spaulding, visitation is limited to one person at a time and only two people a day. Steve's wife (Leonora) and their three boys (Emi, Ethan & Logan) have been taking turns to go see him. Two of them go to see him a day. On December 27th Logan & Ethan played table games with him and he was gloating that he won! It does not seem that he has lost his sense of humor! Steve has been dealing with terrible hiccups, but they are working towards a fix! The family was able to all be together for the first time in 17 days on January 1st. The recovery is going to be a long one. There is no timeline going forward (the family is hoping that Steve will be home some time the middle of this month). The family is going from the Fall River area to Charlestown (Boston) daily. During Steve's rehabilitation and with the daily commute, there are extra added expenses put on the family. Since Steve's stroke, his wife has been unable to work and therefore eliminating her income. There are many added expenses for the family beyond just the travel expenses. The family will need to get adaptive equipment and make home modifications which will not only help Steve throughout his recovery and going forward, but will help him be as independent as possible. We are asking that anyone who is able, please donate to help ease their financial burden. If you are unable to donate, a prayer would be much appreciated! Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
