Hey everyone! I’m Jason’s older sister, Gaby Niles. I wanted to set up a go-fund me to help support Jason and Jaz in this tough season of life.
If you haven’t heard, Jason has been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. He has had severe skin issues the past couple years, and it has seriously impacted his quality of life. We now know that lymphoma has been the root of his health problems.
The good news is: the cancer hasn’t spread far, and it’ll be very treatable. Our hope is that he only needs chemotherapy, and the cancer will be gone!
Unfortunately, Jason and Jaz aren’t in a great place financially. Because of his skin and health, Jason has not worked much this past year. They had to change all their household cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, and even the kind of sheets or clothes Jason uses. Lymphoma has messed with his immune system, and it’s been very expensive.
Jasmine has been working for Starbucks so that they would be prepared to have insurance when Jason turns 26 and is no longer on his parents insurance. Starbucks has its perks, but it’s tough having one income from there.
Jason attempted to work at Starbucks for awhile, but had to temporarily leave because of his health. Some people are able to work while they undergo chemo, but his doctors advised him not to return to Starbucks (even if he feels well) because chemo patients are susceptible to contracting infections. Working where you come into contact with many people is not safe for him in this season. With the coronavirus pandemic, he has to stay home since his immune system is compromised through chemo.
If you want to help the Flores’ out, they would definitely use the money toward medical bills, groceries (they love to shop at Costco and Aldi), gas (lots of driving to appointments!), and to help relieve some day to day bills.
Jason and Jasmine are also hoping to slowly finish the basement in our mom’s new home so that they can have a comfortable and private place to recover.
There are so many ways to help them, whether it be by supporting him through this go fund me page, or by sending gift cards for amazon to buy cleaning/hygiene products or for their favorite grocery store. You can even help by gifting them with supplies to help finish the basement. Jason loves receiving hand-written letters if you want to contribute that way too.
