On Saturday, August 28th, 2021, my beautiful mother, Farjana Ruma Khan-Hossain, passed away. Due to COVID-19 complications, my mother and I were in the hospital because of the affects covid was having on our lungs. After about a week, I was discharged and all I could think about was my mom. Life felt so empty, food and water felt unnecessary, night and day would just come and go like it was nothing; all because my mom was not around. I watched my father pray for hours everyday and the pain we were able to see in him made things so much worse for us. We got updates from the hospital about two to three times a day and it was typically bad news so staying positive was a very tough thing for us to do, but then finally hearing the news of her passing left us all in utter shock, disbelief and grief. Even to this day it is so hard for me to believe that my mother is gone when I saw her sitting in the living room with a smile on her face just last month. Knowing how much pain and suffering she was going through helped my family and I feel a little bit at ease, but accepting it in the moment was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. My mother was a warrior, she took care of so many things and kept a smile on her face even when things were not good on her end. She was such a strong, caring, and knowledgeable woman, always going out of her way to make sure everyone could be happy around her. It is truly unfair that she had to go so soon, but she is in a better place now. 

One of my mother's final wishes was to finally get us a home and somehow she was able to do that while she was in the hospital. I did not even think about the fact that my parents wanted property while I was in the hospital, but it ended up working out and I know my mom is watching over us with a big smile on her face because this is something she wanted to for years now. We are extremely saddened that she couldn't be with us to see the new home after we move in, but we know she will be in that home with us forever. I am blessed to be able to say that she was my mother, the amount of people that were impacted by her loss really showed how important she was to us and so many people. 

This GoFundMe will support my family and I with a lot of things that we know we can't handle alone right now like the medical bills, rent/mortgage, car payments and insurance, etc. I am so grateful to have such a loving community around me and my family and we won't be able to thank you all enough.
