Help support family through husbands detainment

Hello! For starters, I want to say this is not a political post. I am just trying to spread awareness while also asking for some support through these unforeseen and difficult times.

When returning from a family trip abroad, my husband was pulled aside by immigration at the Detroit airport where they confiscated his green card and gave a false narrative that if he went and gathered a police report from a minor charge in 2017 that has been dismissed for years, he would be given his green card back. Per our lawyer, immigration/CBP lied, trapped, and tricked my husband. Once he returned to the airport with the required documents, they kept him and would not let him leave WITHOUT REASON for almost three days. When I went to the airport to ask why he was being held, CBP treated me absolutely awful and automatically assumed that my husband was here on asylum, illegal, and committed a serious crime. None of which are true! He was detained at the airport for three days without reason. It took them this amount of time to decide that an 8-year-old, dismissed, minor charge was important enough to detain him and transport him to an ICE facility in Battle Creek. It has been a month since all of this started.

I have hired a lawyer who has done everything he can to try and get the case dismissed prior to the removal hearings starting, but unfortunately, the state wants to move forward with the case. This has cost 15,000 dollars. Nothing is guaranteed at this point. Everything is in the hands of the state attorney and what they decide. Our attorney can only give them the facts and explain the absolute pettiness and ridiculousness of all this.

This has completely wrecked us emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. My main concern is keeping my children calm and hopeful. Although I haven’t given any detail to them, I keep telling them their daddy will be home soon. If you find it in your heart to help me and my family get through what could potentially be months of my husband being away, I can’t tell you how grateful I would be. If that’s not an option, I totally get it, life is expensive. Can you please keep us in your prayers? Pray for our family, for my kids, the lawyer, and that this awful experience will end in our favor and soon be behind us.
